She Bought Beer

Dear Max,


My mom takes me with her most times, but today she has two friends over for the weekend.  I thought I was her friend?  She leaves me at home with my father. They are not gone more than five minutes, and he calls them on the phone. I am listening while he tells her to buy Leffe beer. There is a picture of an Abby on the front of the bottle, and it says Blonde, he tells her.

While she is gone I regress a bit, and do things like....bark.

In the evening they let me stay on the porch while they are having dinner.  One of the guests would love to give me a lamb chop, but she is very strict.  NO TABLE FOOD.  And she is so strict about my behavior.

All I hear is that good manners will take me anywhere.  Is that why she did not take me to the bar?
